Fran Hall

Fran is a former award-winning funeral director who has been involved with the world of funerals for over two decades. She originally trained and worked as a funeral director in the North London area, before moving into the world of natural burials, setting up and running three natural burial grounds. She is now CEO of the Good Funeral Guide CIC, a not for profit organisation dedicated to supporting, empowering and representing the interests of dying and bereaved people living in the UK, and spends much of her time working to try and ensure people receive the best impartial advice about their rights and options.

In October 2020, Fran’s long-time partner Steve Mead died from Covid-19, the day before his 66th birthday, just three weeks after the couple had married. This profound loss amidst the ongoing horror of the pandemic led to Fran becoming involved with the campaign group Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice

She was one of the volunteers from the group involved with creating the National Covid Memorial Wall on Albert Embankment in London in April 2020, and has since become a media spokesperson for the campaign group and an advocate for the retention of the wall as a permanent memorial to those lost to Covid.
