Facilitator Sarah Jane Douglas, Good Grief

Sarah Jane Douglas

Sarah Jane Douglas is an artist and writer who lives with her two teenage sons in an old fishing village on the northeast coast of Scotland. She is a lover of mountains and is proud to be Munroist No. 5764 (someone who has scaled all of Scotland’s munros).

Sarah is the author of the uplifting 2020 book, Just Another Mountain: A Memoir of Hope. It was written following the loss of her mother, to whom she made a promise never to give up. It details the personal and physical challenges she faced after turning to nature and climbing the forbidding Scottish munros as a coping mechanism for her grief.

Sarah’s journalism has appeared in Country Walking, Trail, Woman & Home and the Sunday Express. She has appeared on ITV’s Lorraine and BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live. Sarah writes the popular blog Smashing Cancer in the Face and actively fundraises for cancer charities.
