Empty Bed Blues – Losing a Life Partner

This talk is essential viewing for anyone who has lost a partner, and for those supporting people who’ve lost partners.

Everyone’s encounters with grief are different. The one thing that our panellists have in common is that they can speak about their experiences with complete candour.

Linda Magistris leads this panel discussion, which brings together a fascinating group of people who are writing, speaking and advocating in this area. Linda founded The Good Grief Trust following the death of her husband, Graham, to a rare form of cancer in 2014.

Jane Kiely and Gary Andrews also join Linda. Jane was widowed in 2017. Since then, she’s embarked upon a journey of self-discovery. Gary lost his wife, Joy, very suddenly to sepsis. He expressed his grief through his illustrations, documenting the days, weeks and months following through his Doodle-a-Day diary.

Other panellists include Oyovwe Kigho, who founded The Widows Empowerment Trust, and Ian Ridley, whose wife, trailblazing sports journalist Vikki Orvice, died at the age of 56.
